Academics- Pre-Primary Section

Billabong High International School methodology is based on two popular facts :-

  • 50% of one’s learning ability (including reading and writing) is developed in the first four years of life.
  • These vital years lay down the pathways on which all future learning is base

We have been pioneers in understanding that stress free environment is a must for learning to happen and that all sensory modalities through which a child learns should be catered.

There are (broadly) three kinds of learners, viz :-

  • The Auditory Learner (who learns through the process of sound and music.
  • The Visual Learner (who learns from pictures and seeing).
  • The Kinaesthetic Learner (who learns by touching moving and doing).

As such ‘The Progressive Teaching Methodology’ doing away with the conventional method has been put in place. Our Curriculum Design Professionals have evolved a Research Based Curriculum which is supported by providing with :-

a) Relevant and scientific teaching aids / toys.

b) Clear technique of delivery of curriculum.

c) Appropriate educational trips and interaction with industry based professionals.

d) Interesting events to ensure parent involvement.

These aid the facilitator to provide the learners with sufficient opportunities to derive maximum benefit from the learning experience.

The Facilitator Learner ratio is :-

Playgroup              1:6

Nursery                 1: 8

Jr. Kg. and Sr. Kg.  1: 14

In addition to the Daily Activities Timetable which is formulated and followed for Nursery onwards, yearly events like traditional Day / Diwali party, Grandparents get-together, World Fest, Sense Booths, Sports day and Annual Concert are conducted to hone the learner’s.

i) Intra and Interpersonal skills.

ii) Linguistic skills.

iii) Confidence building.
